MalEx™ works by combining the best aspects of two technologies: 
Pheromone attraction is combined with a tiny amount of chemical insecticide in a 50 microlitre droplet that is safe, effective, selective, and residue-free.

The pheromone selectively attracts males of the target pest to the female scent where they contact the MalEx™ droplet and are quickly taken out of the mating cycle.

MalEx™ technology contains an infinitesimal dose of potent knock down insecticide that remains isolated from the water table and food.

Pheromone and insecticide are locked inside a patented, UV absorbing carrier material, with slow, uniform pheromone release characteristics.  When pest attempts to mate with MalEx™ droplets it is killed or disabled, thereby preventing mating, subsequent egg-laying, and larval infestation.

MalEx™ comes in an applicator tube with a calibrated pump that deposits metered droplets of product precisely where you want them.

Droplet concentration varies according to pest, i.e., Tuta absoluta, 3000 per hectare, Shootborer, 600 per acre.

Depending upon application, droplets may be placed on leaves, stems, bark, supporting wires or rope stretched above plant rows.

Careful monitoring with Alpha Scents pheromone baited traps is an essential part of an IPM program using MalEx™ as is consulting with your pest control advisor.
